Set Up MistBar

Grab the app, then activate it with the license key I email you after checkout.

Install the App

Open the MistBar disk image you downloaded, drag MistBar into your Applications folder, and launch it from there.

Prefer the command line? Install with Homebrew instead: brew install --cask skj-apps/tap/mistbar

Activate Your License

The first time you open MistBar, a short Welcome walks you through setup and ends with Activate MistBar, which opens Settings → License with the key box ready. Paste the key from the license email I sent you - it arrives separately from your payment receipt - and click Activate. Closed the Welcome early? Open MistBar again and choose Enter License Key.

Allow Menu-Bar Access

On a MacBook, MistBar uses Accessibility to hide and rearrange menu-bar items, not Screen Recording. On a Mac without a notch (an iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, or an external display set as the main screen), macOS 27 leaves no edge to hide against, so hiding photographs the bar and needs Screen Recording, and MistBar asks for it the first time you hide. Otherwise only the optional Tight Icon Spacing on macOS 27 asks for it, and it is off by default. Your license covers 3 Macs; free one up in Settings → License when you want to move it.
